Dr. Dewey H. Jones, IV

A native of Birmingham, Alabama Dr. Jones joined Brookwood Orthopedics in July 2000, moving his family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Jones graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Molecular Biology in 1991. He received his MD degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham in 1995. His Orthopedic training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee was completed in 2000. His training included trauma training in Davos, Switzerland, pediatric training at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and care of amateur and professional athletes at Froedert Sports Medicine Clinic.

Dr. Jones was the recipient of the John Gould outstanding research award in 2000. He has presented at orthopedic societies and published in medical literature. Dr. Jones is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, Southern Orthopedic Association, Alabama Orthopedic Society, and Jefferson County Medical Society. Dr. Jones is active on the medical staff of Brookwood Medical Center, Birmingham Surgery Center, St. Vincent's Hospital, and Trinity Medical Center. He currently is a physician instructor for the Physician Assistant program at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Dr. Jones is experienced in treating adult and pediatric patients with musculoskeletal conditions, and injuries including sports medicine, arthritis, and spine problems. Dr. Jones has an interest in arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques of the shoulder and knee.

The son of an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jones has enjoyed a lifetime of exposure to orthopedic care. He enjoys playing golf, skiing, and caring for injured athletes.
